We Know Healthcare
For the past 25 years, healthcare has been shaped by sweeping legislation designed to modernize the industry. We have thrived during this period by providing innovative solutions that reduce the impact of health policy changes.
As Medfusion, we were the first vendor to offer the patient portal. HIPAA created a need for secure patient-provider communication which drove the initial wave of demand for patient portals in the early 2000s. In the 2010s, Meaningful Use legislation drove further adoption through financial incentives that paid providers to use electronic medical records and patient portals.
Now as Greenlight, we continue to leverage HIPAA and Meaningful Use standards while keeping a close eye on emerging interoperability standards associated with the Cures Act. The Greenlight solution enables a healthcare consumer to connect to an electronic copy of their medical records—these are called Continuity of Care Document (CCD) files. CCD files are an industry standard that came to fruition through Meaningful Use. These machine-readable files are highly codified and exist because of the transaction and code set standards that were part of HIPAA.
Our history with EHRs over the past 20 years gives us deep expertise in patient history data points and many relationships within the healthcare industry.
While we closely follow policy changes, and leverage new standards, we are focused on innovating new uses of technology that enable healthcare consumers to access and share their medical records with a trusted partner.
